Kerala women clinched gold while the men's team bagged a bronze in the Senior National 3X3 Basketball Championship at the indoor court of the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai on Monday.

The Kerala women's team comprising Aneesha Cleetus, Grima Merlin Varghese, Jesly P S and Jayalakshmi V J defeated Delhi 20- 15 to win the title.

While Jayalakshmi is a member of the Kerala Police team, the others represent the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB).

In the men's category, Kerala drubbed Rajasthan 19-6 to claim bronze. The team comprised Sharath A S and Sugeethnath from KSEB and Vaisak Manoj and Joshua Sunil from central GST and Customs.

The women's team pocketed a cash prize of Rs 3 lakh while the men received Rs 1 lakh.

Kerala women were unbeaten in the championship have crushed Karnataka 19-3 in the quarterfinals before overpowering Indian Railways, 21-10 in the semifinals.
