Bubaneswar: Kerala Blasters FC beat Shillong Lajong 3-1 in their opening match of the Kalinga Super Cup at the Kalinga Stadium Pitch 1, here, on Wednesday.
Lajong started off well but Blasters took the lead in the 15 minute through their Kwame Peprah. The Ghanaian forward made it 2-0 in the 26th minute.
Shillong Lajong pulled one back through a penalty converted by captain Renan Paulino De Souza in the 29 minute after Karim Samb was fouled inside the box by Blasters goalkeeper Sachin Suresh. It was Blasters who took the lead by 2-1 at half-time.
Blasters doubled their lead in the 46th minute through Mohammed Aimen and collected all 3 points.
