This iconic Indian sweet dish could be easily prepared using bread and milk powder. Check out the pretty simple recipe of bread gulab jamun.

Ingredients
12 bread slices
2 spoons (30 ml spoon) milk powder
1 cup milk
1 cup sugar
2 cups water
6 -7 cardamom pods
Oil to fry

Preparation
Cut the edges off the bread slices
Crumble the bread using your fingers
Add milk slowly
Mix into dough
Add the milk powder
Mix well and keep it aside for some time
Make sugar syrup by boiling the sugar in 2 cups water in a thick bottomed vessel
Add the cardamom to flavor the syrup
The sugar syrup should be sticky
Heat oil in a pan
Make small balls from the bread dough
Fry the jamun balls in the hot oil
When these are deep brown in color, scoop them out
Drop the fried jamun balls in the sugar syrup immediately
Allow the jamun balls to soak in the syrup for at least half an hour
The sugar syrup should cover the jamun
The jamun would be softer if they are soaked in the syrup for longer
Juicy and plump bread gulab jamun is ready.
