Anyone who celebrates Vishu will be looking forward to none other than the 'vishukaineetam' itself. Once you fill your pockets, the next thing you would love the most is definitely the sumptuous lunch aka Kerala Sadya you could relish with your family and loved ones.
Here's a list of Vishu recipes prepared for you to try out this year.
1. Vishu kanji

With vacation time and Vishu coming together, this is the right time to introduce new dishes to the kids. A popular dish in Palakkad, Vishu kanji is a must-try.
2. Vishu katta

Every child’s favourite, the sweet vishu katta is made by mixing pachoru (cooked raw rice mixed with thick coconut milk) in jaggery extract. It’s blended well, wrapped in plantain leaves and steamed. It’s then cut into square or rectangular pieces. The subtle taste of rice, leaf and jaggery is a temptation in itself.
3. Kani ada

The auspicious Vishukani on the day of Vishu is backed by the ceremonial Vishu ada; it is the best start you can ask for on the glorious day.
4. Mambazha pulissery

Though mostly prepared during Onam, Pulissery is the perfect curry to be relished for Vishu sadya as well. One might be used to making the usual pulissery but here's a recipe used with mango.
The sweet and sour curry with mangoes and curd makes the mambazha pulissery perfect for lunch.
5. Chakka pradhaman

Give a yummy makeover to your Vishu sadya payasam by giving it a jackfruit twist. Ditch palada and go for sliced jackfruit arils to make the jaggery payasam and surprise your guests.
