A popular fried snack, the crunchy fafda is an unavoidable item during festivals in Gujarat. It is usually eaten with spicy chutney or tempered green chillies.

Ingredients
2 cups gram flour
Salt as required (dissolved in some water)
Oil to fry
Black salt, as required
Chile powder, as required
Preparation
Mix the gram flour into thick dough by adding salt water as needed
Soften this dough by grinding it on a stone grinder
Now make small balls and roll them
Cut out strips that are 1 inch thick and 3 inches long, from the rolled dough
Heat oil and fry these dough strips
Sprinkle black salt and chilli powder on top.
