NAAC, the assessment and accreditation council of UGC, conferred an A++ grade upon Nirmala College, Muvattupuzha after the latest evaluation. The grade point of 3.73 secured by the college is one among the highest in India for an affiliated college. 

Nirmala is an acclaimed presence in education in central Kerala for the past 67 years. The grade was awarded after a National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) team examined the academic and pedagogic methods, infrastructure, governance and the best practices of the college. The academic, social and student-friendly policies of the college received special commendation.

The team opined that the extracurricular activities of the college helped foster national integration and character building. The institution's Swacch Nirmala and Digital Campus programmes associated with Swacch Bharat and Digital India respectively are deemed markers of commitment to society and stakeholders. Nirmala Hastam is yet another venture which helped cultivate social commitment amongst college students. The team also congratulated the student populace numbering more than three thousand for showing great organizational and entrepreneurial skills. The cultural extravaganza named Saranga and the exhibition conducted to showcase the activities of the various clubs and forums of the college was a highlight of the visit.

''The A++ grade is a reward to the college's commitment to academic excellence, social service and discipline," said Mar George Madathikandil, the Patron of the College and the Bishop of the Eparchy Kothamangalam.

'The academic excellence of the college and the seamless coordination between the faculty, students and non-teaching staff helped us gain this recognition,' Manager Monsignor Cherian Kanjirakkombil,  Higher Education Secretary Fr Paul Nedumpurathu, Principal Dr K V Thomas, Vice Principal Prof Saji Joseph and Bursar Fr Francis Kannadan added.
