The recruit and assignment centre of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), which comes under the Ministry of Defence, has invited applications for 290 posts. The aspirants can apply for the posts of Scientist B at the DRDO and the Department of Science and Technology (DST), scientist/engineer B at Aeronautical Developmental Agency (ADA) and executive engineer at the Gallium Arsenide Enabling Technology Center (GAETEC). There are around 270 vacant posts, including 32 backlog posts, at DRDO alone. Those who have scored high marks in the GATE examinations in 2017, 2018 and 2019 can apply for these posts.

Posts are open in the various engineering streams like electronics and communication, mechanical, computer science, chemical, electrical, aeronautical, metallurgy, civil, instrumentation and textile production / industrial production and also in chemistry, mathematics, chemistry, geology, physics, material science and food science.

Qualification: Candidates applying for the engineering posts should pass graduation in engineering/technology in the concerned subjects with not less than first-class marks. Postgraduates in other science streams too can apply. The applicants should have excellent scores in the GATE examination. Those who are awaiting the results of final year too could apply for these posts. They are required to submit the certificates only by September 30th. First-class marks are not compulsory for those who apply for the posts in DST. See detailed notification for more information about qualification.

Age: 28 years (DRDO, GAETEC), 35 years (DST) and 30 years (ADA). SC/ST, OBC candidates and persons with physical disabilities would get age relaxation.

Application fee: Candidates in general, OBC and EWS categories should pay an online application fee of Rs 100. There is no application fee for SC/ST categories, persons with disabilities and women.

Selection: The candidates would be selected based on their GATE scores. There would be rounds of descriptive exam and interview as well.

How to apply: The candidates have to register on the website www.rac.gov.in before applying for the posts. The certificates, mark sheets and passport-sized photograph should be uploaded. The applicants should choose posts in the order of preference.
