Kochi: As the MEMU services resume from Monday, general tickets and season tickets will be issued from the stations that these trains pass through, the Railways has said. For this, booking counters will function at the stations from Monday.
Kollam-Alappuzha, Alappuzha-Ernakulam, and Ernakulam-Shoranur MEMU services resume on Monday. Five services will resume by Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Guruvayur-Punalur-Guruvayur Express (06327/06328) will resume services with unreserved coaches from March 17. The general tickets and season tickets for this train will be issued from the stations, where there are stoppages, from Wednesday itself. However, the UTS on mobile service has not been restored.
Advance reservations will have to be made for all the other trains, which are currently conducting services.
The Southern Railway has also permitted the revalidation of season tickets. This facility has been extended to the passengers, whose season tickets had validity after March 24, 2020, when the train services were suspended in the country due to the COVID-19 lockdown.
The new season tickets will be revalidated from March 15, based on how many days of validity were left on the ticket.
