Hello
While SFI's KS Anirudhan managed to garner 892 votes, KSU's S Sreekuttan, who challenged the election in the High Court, got 889 votes.
The High Court had declared the earlier election invalid and ordered repoll.
Court refused to issue an interim order banning the SFI candidate from assuming the post of the college union chairman.
MK Sudarsan has claimed he asked for a recount as per Calicut University Union Election Rules.
Sreekuttan felt that SFI could not digest his victory. “They destroyed democracy by sabotaging the election result,” he said.
The principal said that the KSU members have not yet approached her demanding reelection to the post of chairperson.
Though KSU workers cooperated with the recounting initially, they walked out later alleging discrepencies.
Sreekuttan Sivadasan is poised to be the chairman of the college union ending SFI's four-decade supremacy.
In the final, SB defeated Sree Kerala Varma College, 49-41.
After receiving a barrage of threats, the first-rank holder sent in letter stating she was relinquishing the job.
