Sidharthan, a second-year student of the Bachelor in Veterinary and Animal Sciences course, died by suicide after enduring prolonged physical torture by senior students.
The selection committee was formed a day after Chancellor Khan stayed the university Managing Council's decision to reinstate two officials who were suspended over the death of Sidharthan.
Sidharthan, a second-year student at the university's Pookode campus was found hanging in the hostel toilet on February 18, 2024.
However, the panel finds no connection between the cruelty meted out to the deceased and campus politics.
The victim's family has already approached the KVASU vice-chancellor and Governor.
The students were accused of committing abetment to suicide, criminal conspiracy and assault of JS Sidharthan.

In his resignation letter to Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, who is also the chancellor of universities, Dr Saseendran stated he was stepping down due to personal reasons.
The college was shut down following the death of Sidharthan JS, a second-year student of the veterinary varsity.
The protest march turned violent when police tried to block the activists from entering the campus.
