A second-year Computer Science student from St.Joseph's College, Devagiri, in Kozhikode, drowned in a waterfall on Friday afternoon while on a trip to Kakkadampoyil in Malappuram.
Only his grandparents were at home at the time, as his parents were at work.
They met with the tragedy while preparing for their wedding, which was scheduled for June.
The accident happened around 9.30 am on Wednesday near the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Latin Church along the Dindigul-Kottarakkara National Highway.
Manorama News reported that the Karnataka-bound bus collided with the truck on its way to Mattannur from Iritty.
While on a family trip to Mysuru, their car (KL 84 B 0372) collided with the Tempo Traveller in the wee hours of Tuesday.
Another labourer, Mohith, also from Bihar, got injured.
The injured were taken to Puthukkad Taluk Hospital.
Manorama News reported that the vehicle plunged into the well after losing control and crashing into the compound wall of a house.
The deceased are Rohini, a native of Perattil, and her daughter Akhila.
