Chhattisgarh: Four Naxalites were killed in an encounter with security forces in the Bastar region, Chhattisgarh, officials said on Sunday. The joint anti-Naxalite operation took place in south Abujhmaad near the border of Narayanpur and Dantewada districts on Saturday.

The gunfight continued until late Saturday, after which the bodies of four Naxalites, along with automatic weapons, including an AK-47 rifle and a self-loading rifle (SLR), were recovered from the scene. In the face-off, DRG head constable Sannu Karam also lost his life, officials said. A search operation is ongoing in the area, officials added.
