One Army jawan killed in mine blast in J&K's Poonch

Poonch/Jammu: An army personnel was killed in a mine blast while patrolling along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district on Monday, reported PTI.
The incident occurred when the soldier, part of an area domination patrol in the Thanedar Tekri region along the LoC, accidentally stepped on a mine, leading to the explosion, officials said.
The deceased is Havildar V Subbaiah Varikunta of the 25 Rashtriya Rifles. Lieutenant General Navin Sachdeva, General Officer Commanding (GoC) of the White Knight Corps, along with all ranks, paid tribute to the soldier. "Our deepest condolences to the bereaved family. We stand steadfastly with them in this hour of grief," the GoC said.
