People generally try to make their wedding day unforgettable with dance and songs. Now, a video of a bride and her father dancing at a wedding reception is going viral on social media. Laloo, a native of Chenthrapinni, and his daughter Devika, who got married to Akhil, a native of Chelambra, Malappuram, became internet stars with their dance performance at the wedding reception.

After the rituals of the marriage, Laloo joined his daughter, her sister, and friends when he saw them dancing together. The father-daughter duo's electrifying performance was to the popular song 'Mukkala Mukkabala.' The crowd was clearly energized the moment the father stepped onto the stage after the music began. Laloo is a staff member at the Edamuttam Alpha Palliative Care Centre.

"Looking at the father, you'd think he's the girl's brother," many commented below the viral video. The bride's sister is also seen dancing alongside her father and sister. "This is what a real 'Bro Daddy' is," and "This father, who was able to happily send off his daughter, is the luckiest," were some of the other comments.

Conceptualising features and programmes to add colour to weddings in Kerala has been a trend for quite some time now. Cross-cultural elements Mehndi or Sangeet foraying into Kerala weddings to display grandeur and radiance of the ceremony is now common.

While singers crooning at marriage functions has been there for years, dance performances by professionals and even the bride or the kin have been comparatively new and well received in Kerala.
