If what you need is some motivation to gain fitness, a glance at 69-year-old Roshani Devi is all you need. This Delhi woman recently became an internet sensation after she shared a video of her doing a 60 kg deadlift, 40 kg squats and 100 kg leg press. She is known by the moniker ‘Weight Lifter Mummy’ on social media and has been beckoning many senior citizens too into the realm of fitness through her page.

Inspired by her son
Roshni Devi had arthritis and was suffering from severe joint aches in the past. It was her son who invited her to his gym to try exercising as a remedy for the pain. Roshni confesses that she was hesitant initially as she was a bit embarrassed to work at the gym at this age. However, her son supported her and encouraged her to work out regularly. Even though she couldn’t do much in the beginning, Roshni slowly began enjoying the various workouts at the gym. Now, Roshni says she feels healthier than before and vows that she doesn’t have any joint aches now. “I never thought I would be able to do this. However, working out is something that I enjoy a lot these days” says Roshni Devi.

Roshni exercises at the gym under the guidance of her son Ajay Sangwan who is a professional trainer.. Whenever her workout videos are posted on social media, hundreds of people like them and appreciate her efforts. Even youngsters are in awe of Roshni’s perfect weightlifting videos and post encouraging comments. Her daily routine at the gym involves an hour of weight training and cardio exercises. Roshni proves that age is just a number and that staying healthy and happy is the most important thing in life.
