Uma Thomas accident: Health Minister visits hospital to assess recovery

Kochi: Health Minister Veena George on Tuesday visited the hospital where Uma Thomas, MLA, is undergoing treatment in Ernakulam and assessed her health. The minister spoke to her son, Vishnu.
The doctors said that Uma Thomas' health is improving faster than expected. There is hope that she will recover soon. She is able to sit on a chair with other's help, they said.
As per the instructions of Minister Veena George, a team led by Dr Jayakumar, Superintendent of Kottayam Medical College and renowned cardiothoracic and vascular surgery expert, is assessing her treatment. The treatment plan is coordinated after discussions with the expert team and the hospital's medical board. The team informed that the treatment is continuing in the right manner. As part of infection control, visitors are not currently allowed.
Anwar Sadath MLA, Ernakulam Medical College Superintendent Dr Ganesh Mohan, and the treating doctors were with the minister.
