Health experts say that munching on 45 gms of almonds daily would reduce the bad cholesterol. Meanwhile, fresh mushrooms can improve good cholesterol and help you shed body weight too. Here is the fairly simple recipe of creamy badami mushroom.

Ingredients
¼ cup almonds
200 gms mushroom
2 tbsp coconut oil
1 tsp cumin seeds
3 cardamom pods
4 cloves
2 cinnamon sticks
4 - 5 pepper corns
2 bay leaves
1 ½ cups finely chopped onion
1 ½ tbsp ginger - garlic paste
2 medium sized tomatoes
Salt as required
3 green chillies
¼ tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp Kashmiri chilli powder
1 tbsp regular chilli powder
1 tbsp coriander powder
1 tbsp kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)

Preparation
Soak the almonds in hot water
After 1 hour, peel off the skin and then grind the almonds into smooth paste
Wash the mushrooms and cut into slices
Heat coconut oil in a pan
Lightly roast cumin seeds, cardamom pods, cloves, bay leaves, cinnamon and pepper corns
Now sauté the onions, ginger - garlic paste and salt
Add salt as required
Add the tomatoes too
Sauté until water reduces
When the oil begins to separate, add turmeric powder, Kashmiri chili powder, regular chili powder and coriander powder
Sauté well
Now add the mushroom slices and almond paste
Pour some water too
Cook until the gravy boils well
Enjoy the mushroom - almond masala with chapthi, appam or puri.
