Krishnakumar Kunnath, or KK as he is widely known, had proved his mettle very early and was a constantly known name among the youth during the emergence of the new wave in the Indian music in the 1990s spearheaded by the prodigious composer A R Rahman.

A prolific singer who always made it a point to keep his face behind his music KK has endeared legions of music lovers of all ages and walks of life. His versatility was marked by the different genres of music he experimented with.

Yet, his remarkable style stood out in each of the songs he rendered. Surprisingly, he is an artist who has never obtained formal training in music. His demise is definitely an unfathomable loss to the music world. Though his roots belong to Kerala he is believed to have sung just one song in Malayalam cinema.
