Thiruvananthapuram: The fourth day of the 29th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) began with a tribute to the late renowned tabla maestro Ustad Zakir Hussain. A tribute motion poster was screened in all 67 theatres before the day’s film screenings. This was followed by the rhythm of tabla, with the message, "Thy rhythm will echo in our hearts.”

Following this, various cultural programmes across multiple venues paid homage to the legendary artist.
Hussian passed away on Monday due to complications arising out of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. He was 73. He had been hospitalised for the last two weeks and was later taken to the ICU as his condition deteriorated. Hussain bagged four Grammy Awards in his career, including three at the 66th Grammy Awards earlier this year.
