Singer and music director Ishaan Dev, a close friend of musician Balabhaskar, who died in a car accident in 2018 slammed those criticising the late violinist’s wife Lakshmi. Lakshmi Balabhaskar opened up about her love for Balabhaskar and the incidents that too place on that fatal night, in an exclusive interview with Manorama News, that was aired on Tuesday.
Ahead of the interview, Ishaan wrote,“Lakshmi Balabhaskar will be speaking about her husband, daughter and their life together. She will be addressing those who love her husband and the friends who respect her life. You might not find what you are looking for in it. Those who find pleasure in throwing stones at her may not be able to see her pain. My family and I have always stood by our dear Balu chettan's wife.
Those same people are also targeting me, but my wife and I will stand by Lakshmi. That is also how we show our gratitude, respect and love for Balu chettan’s wife whom he loved so much. The police and the CBI have been investigating the case thoroughly. But, some people are prejudiced and take pleasure in humiliating her. They are busy creating their own versions of heroes and villains and forget that people on the other side of the backlash have a life. We only know what Balabhaskar has told us about his relatives and relations. We need to ‘Live and Let Live’,” wrote Ishaan Dev.
The car in which violinist Balabhaskar and his family were travelling met with an accident on September 25, 2018. The couple’s only daughter Tejaswini died on the spot. Balabhaskar succumbed to his injuries on October 2 while undergoing treatment. Lakshmi too sustained severe injuries in the accident. She was targeted by trolls and critics even while mourning her husband and daughter.
