Cyclone Dana: Cancelled trains lists and helpline numbers; Airports may be shut

As Cyclone Dana is expected to cross the Odisha and West Bengal coasts on October 25, the state governments, railways and airports are putting together various safety measures. The railway has cancelled more than 300 trains already. A few of the cancelled trains are as follows:
1) Train No. 06087 from Tirunelveli Junction - Shalimar Special scheduled to leave Tirunelveli on October 24
2) Bhubaneswar - Rameswaram Superfast Express scheduled to leave Bhubaneswar on October 25.
3) Train no. 12830 from Bhubaneswar to Dr MGR Chennai Central Superfast Express, scheduled to leave Bhubaneswar at 12.10 am on October 24 is fully cancelled
4) Train no. 12829 from Dr MGR Chennai Central to Bhubaneswar Superfast Express, scheduled to leave Dr MGR Chennai Central at 10 hrs on October 25 is fully cancelled
5) Train no. 22888 SMVT Bengaluru - Howrah Express (via Katpadi), scheduled to leave SMVT Bengaluru at 10.15 am on October 24 is fully cancelled. Train no. 22888 (Oct 23) will run as per schedule
6) Train no. 22644 Patna - Ernakulam Express which was to commence on October 24.
7) Train no. 12552 - Kamakya - SMVB Bengaluru Expressch was on October 24.
8) Train no. 22503 - Kanniyakumari - Dibrugarah Express commencing today
9) Train no. 3430 - Malda Town - Secunderabad Express special, which was scheduled for October 29.
The East Coast Railway has also put together a disaster management cell that works round the clock, at its headquarters at Rail Sadan and divisional headquarters.
Airports on alert
As of now, the fight operations at various airports stand unaffected, though Kolkata airport officials reportedly said safety precautions will be taken depending on how the climate changes. Officials said that if at all the cyclone spares the airport, it can stay shut for several hours. In May this year too, the Kolkata airport was shut down for 21 hours due to Cyclone Remal. Around 400 flights were cancelled and 200 were also diverted due to the same.
