Artificial island group Diyar Al Muharraq in Bahrain offers the largest underwater theme park in the world named 'Dive Bahrain,' with an area of 1,00,000 square meters. A huge Boeing 747 Jumbo Jet is parked right in the centre of the theme park at approximately 24 meters below sea level. There is one condition for visiting this park, though. One needs to be a experienced diver; and a PADI certified one at that.

The theme park provides safe and enjoyable ride to properly qualified people. Along with the jumbo jet, which is a decommissioned aircraft shipped from Dubai and the largest sub-sea aircraft anywhere, there are artificial coral reefs in the park that attract a lot of marine life. There are also structures that resemble households of traditional pearl divers.

As for the aircraft, it was stripped of its internals and all the non-ecofriendly components were removed. Keeping only the outer frame, the aircraft was then power-washed with bio-friendly detergents. The theme park is totally eco-friendly and while it provides the natural habitat for all the local marine life, it also makes the ambience thrilling for the tourists.

Recently a Malayali team of 8 comprising of Prince and Nikhil Somanathan visited this theme park.

Prince opines that only those who have expertise in diving can enjoy this theme park. His team says that the place is still practically unknown to the world even though it is the largest underwater theme park. It is publicizing itself through the visitors and is currently offering many discounts and attractive promotional packages. The theme park visit is designed for a group of 8 and the ride duration is 45 minutes under guidance of an expert diver.

Turkey, following the Bahrain example, has an underwater theme park with an Airbus. It is now one of the Turkey's hottest diving spots. For Turkey, this theme park is not new either. Some years ago, they had planted an Airbus aircraft underwater on the Aegean coast.
