The chargesheet submitted by the SFIO was recently accepted by the Ernakulam Additional Sessions Court.
The Congress and BJP have demanded Vijayan’s resignation and a high-level probe into alleged corruption involving his daughter and her firm.
The SFIO had on Thursday filed a prosecution complaint in the CMRL bribery case in front of the Economic Offences Court, Kochi.
The CPM will aggressively spread the political line that the Centre is trying to deflect attention from its totalitarian, stifling and anti-federal ways by cooking up corruption cases against party leaders.
According to a PTI report, Rajeev highlighted that three vigilance courts and the Kerala High Court have already said that there was no evidence of corruption regarding the alleged financial transactions between private mining company Cochin Minerals and Rutile Ltd (CMRL) and Veena's now-defunct IT company, Exalogic.
He pointed out that the central agency filed the chargesheet against Veena and 26 others in the case when the Delhi High Court scheduled it for a detailed hearing in July.
KPCC President K Sudhakaran MP called for Vijayan's immediate resignation.
Veena and her company have been charged with section 447 of the Companies Act in the 160-page SFIO chargesheet.
Kerala BJP leader Shaun George, who is a party in the case, welcomed the court’s decision, stating that the SFIO can now proceed unhindered.
The plea filed by Mathew Kuzhalnadana was also rejected.
