The deadline for submitting applications has been extended till 5 pm on December 20.
The entrance exam for admissions to all Sainik Schools (AISSEE 2024) is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA)
The entrance test (AISSEE – 2023) is scheduled to be conducted on January 8. Examination centres in Kerala – Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Palakkad, Kozhikode.
The objective of the 33 Sainik Schools in India is to prepare the students to lead as officers in the defence forces.
In August, during the 75th Independence Day speech, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced that female students will now be admitted to all the 33 Sainik Schools in the country, thereby giving wings to many young girls who wish to join the Indian defence forces.
For the first time in history after the foundation of the only Sainik School in the state in 1962, the first batch of girl cadets took admission in Sainik School Kazhakootam.
Sainik schools are run by the Sainik Schools Society which is under the administrative control of the Ministry of Defence.
The admissions to classes 6 and 9 are open now and aspiring candidates can apply online.
