Motorsport fans on Wednesday had the much-anticipated first glimpse of racing icon Lewis Hamilton in a Ferrari Formula One car. The seven-time world champion drove a 2023 car of the most famous team in Formula One history at the constructor's test track in Fiorano, Italy.
Hamilton had announced his decision to leave Mercedes for Ferrari a year ago, but the 40-year-old had only made his first appearance at the Italian team's headquarters on Monday.
Last year, the Briton had his worst season in Formula One, finishing seventh overall. Hamilton last won a championship in 2020. Racing fans have been debating whether Hamilton could surpass the legendary Michael Schumacher, with whom he is tied for a record seven Formula One championships.

Hamilton already holds the record for the most wins (105), 14 clear of Schumacher, who won five titles, including 72 race wins, for Ferrari. Hamilton's first look in the famous yellow helmet, riding the red car, has taken the internet by storm.
"I've been lucky enough to have achieved things in my career I never thought possible, but part of me has always held on to that dream of racing in red," Hamilton said on his first day in the office.
