I’m sad to miss these important games against Uruguay and Brazil," Messi said. "I really wanted to play, but a small injury means I need to rest for a bit, so I can’t be there."

Argentina play Uruguay in Montevideo on March 21 and arch-rivals Brazil at Buenos Aires on March 25. Messi has said he will support the national side as a fan. "I’ll be supporting and cheering from here like any other fan. Let’s go, Argentina," Messi said.
