Former Kerala Blasters winger Rahul K P created a late equaliser on Thursday during his debut for Odisha FC in the Indian Super League.

The Thrissur native popped up with a spectacular overhead kick on 90+8 minutes that hit the near post before ricocheting off Chennaiyin FC goalkeeper Mohammad Nawaz for an own goal. That goal, crafted out of Rahul's industry, made it 2-2 for Odisha in Chennai.

Interestingly, another player with a Kerala connection, Dorielton, scored Odisha's first goal after Chennaiyin took a 2-0 lead. Brazilian striker Dorielton had played for Forca Kochi in Super League Kerala before his recent switch to Odisha.

Rahul had bid goodbye to the Blasters after a memorable five-year stay, during which period he made 81 league appearances. Rahul's minutes were limited this season at the Blasters as he was mostly used as a substitute. His only goal for the Blasters this season came in a 3-0 win, yet again against Chennaiyin in Kochi on November 24.

Rahul will be reunited with the Blasters on Monday (Jan 13) when Odisha visit Kochi for an ISL away match.
