Ever since the diabetes drug Ozempic became popular also as a weight loss medication, both celebs and the common man who could afford it boarded the 'slimming down' bandwagon to regain their confidence. Its positive and negative effects on health are much debated, and many even say it is dangerous. Still, it looks like the drug is giving rise to another trend on social media - Ozempic babies! Many women who were struggling with infertility treatments and were also using Ozempic claim on social media that they got unexpectedly pregnant after using the medication! For instance, Demi Walker, a user on Instagram, claims that while none of the other medications or treatments worked for her, she became pregnant after using Ozempic consistently for four months.

Is Ozempic also an infertility medication?
Despite the claims, doctors assert that Ozempic is primarily a diabetes medication. The drug seems to be effective in balancing sugar levels, improving metabolism, and handling weight management and PCOS. Therefore, it might indirectly improve fertility as well. Weight loss can boost the health of ovaries, improve hormonal balance and thus increase the conception rate. There is no concrete evidence showing that Ozempic directly increases fertility. The recommendation is still not to try to conceive when they are on Ozempic, as studies have shown the risk of miscarriages and even birth defects.
