Poly who retired as a technician from ISRO has built his dream dwelling at the beautiful and calm hamlet of Karukutty in Ernakulam district in Kerala. He wanted a single storey house with all the modern amenities at the village where he could enjoy his retired life.
The house is surrounded by lush greenery and peaceful atmosphere that is incredibly alluring. The elevation features a fine blend of traditional and colonial style architectural styles. The family wasn’t interested in adorning the house with over the top decorations. So, the house exudes the elegant charm of minimalism.
The elevation dons the classy colour combination of white and grey. The front yard is paved with tiles. A tank too has been installed in the plot for rain water harvesting. The rain water that falls on the roof would be stored in this tank. This water is then filtered and used for drinking and other household purposes.
Designed in 850 sqft, this beautiful abode has a sit out, living and dining areas, four bedrooms and kitchen with an adjacent work area.
The interiors are designed in the open style by avoiding unnecessary walls that separate spaces. Huge windows bring lots of natural sun shine and cool breeze into the house.
The bedrooms have been designed by giving prime importance to storage. The bath attached bedrooms have full length wardrobes too.
Poly and his family are happy that they got the house of their dreams where they could live in the company of fabulous nature.
