The first day on the sets of Siddique's upcoming Mohanlal-starrer 'Big Brother' left young actress Gaadha over the moon. Having cast as one of the three female leads in the movie, Gaadha had no clue that her very first day of shooting was with superstar Mohanlal. “I was so nervous, and excited at the same time. It was the first time I saw Mohanlal that close,” Gaadha said. In a candid chat, Gaadha spoke about her experience on the sets of Big Brother, her aspirations in career and journey to filmdom.
A native of the busy Ernakulam city, Gaadha hails from a middle-class family. Her father was an employee in a private firm and her mother a home-maker. Gaadha has an elder brother, who is a businessman. Gaadha had been a movie aspirant since childhood. As a young student, Gaadha trained herself in cinematic dance and won prizes in youth festivals. She also performed semi classical dance without any systematic training. According to her, passion is the greatest teacher. “I dreamed of acting in movies as a child. I enacted scenes from popular movies in front of my family,” she said.
She started off her career as model. “My modelling career was actually a short-cut for landing in movies,” she revealed.
Gaadha is a graduate in fashion designing from a private institute in Bengaluru. Gaadha debuted in cinema through 'Nimir,' the Tamil version of Dileesh Pothen's Fahadh-starrer 'Maheshinte Prathikaram.' Gaadha played the role of 'Vidya' in 'Nimir,' which was played by Lijomol in the Malayalam version. She said that 'Nimir' offered her a good break in the industry.
She said that Mohanlal's friendly attitude and advices helped her very much to perform her part well in Big Brother. “Lalettan is a friendly person. I didn't even feel that I was interacting with a legendary superstar. He adjusts the pace of his acting to suit ours and constantly gives suggestions to improve our acting,” she said. Gaadha added that she trained herself in timely responses to co-actor's mannerisms in the guidance of Mohanlal.
Gaadha said that she is open to perform all types of characters that come by her way. “It is not the screen-time or relevance that matters when it comes to movie roles but how well we perform it,” she said. Gaadha said that she landed in Big Brother when Siddique called her after viewing her photographs.
Gaadha hasn't signed up for any other movies yet. “I am waiting to watch how my role on Big Brother turns out,” she said.
