CUSAT to accredit CIASL aviation courses

Kochi: Cochin International Aviation Services Limited (CIASL) has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) to recognise CIASL’s academy as an accredited institution of the university. The MoU was signed in a ceremony held at Cochin Airport in the presence of Industries Minister P Rajeeve, CIAL Managing Director and CIASL Chairman S Suhas IAS, and CUSAT Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) P G Sankaran. The MoU was signed by Registrar Dr V Sivanandan Achari on behalf of CUSAT and Santhosh J Poovattil, Managing Director, CIASL on behalf of CIASL Academy.

The function was presided over by Benny Behanan MP and MLAs Roji M John and Anwar Sadath. As per the agreement, CIAL Academy will become an accredited institute of CUSAT. With the signing of MoU, those who are trained at CIAL academy will be accredited in various aviation-related courses. CUSAT will oversee the examination process and the conduct of training.

Suhas IAS said that the partnership with CUSAT will give a fillip to the CIASL’s academic pursuits in aviation-related courses and training modules. CIAL Aviation Academy, established in 2009 with the objective of imparting professional training in the field of aviation, offers various training courses. Each year, the academy’s intake crosses over 4,000 students from various institutes across India. The academy is also an accredited training partner of the Airports Council International (ACI) in Montreal, Canada.
