New KSRTC super deluxe bus service from Thodupuzha to Bengaluru from today: Timings, fare

A long-awaited convenience is on the way for commuters travelling from Idukki to Karnataka, as the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) is set to launch a new Super Deluxe bus service from Thodupuzha to Bengaluru via Coimbatore on today (September 6, Sunday). The launch ceremony will take place at the Thodupuzha KSRTC depot at 3 pm, with Government Chief Whip Apu John Joseph flagging off the service.
This new route is expected to provide massive relief to students, IT professionals, and frequent travellers who regularly commute between these regions. The introduction of this interstate service follows persistent demands from the local community and various passenger associations. In response, Transport Minister CP John sanctioned the route after active interventions by Government Chief Whip Apu John Joseph and Kerala State Transport Authority (STA) member K Suresh Babu.
Service schedule and timings
To begin with, the KSRTC Super Deluxe service will operate twice a week, offering convenient weekend and weekday schedules for commuters. The Thodupuzha to Bengaluru service will run on Sundays and Thursdays, departing from Thodupuzha at 4.45 pm and reaching Bengaluru at 4 am the following morning. For the return journey, the bus will leave Bengaluru on Mondays at 2.45 pm, arriving in Thodupuzha at 2 am on Tuesdays. The second return service of the week will depart Bengaluru on Fridays at 8.45 pm, reaching Thodupuzha at 7 am on Saturdays.
Affordable fares and inaugural details
The ticket fare for the entire journey from Thodupuzha to Bengaluru has been fixed at a budget-friendly rate of ₹828, making it an economical option compared to private operators. Several prominent local leaders and officials are expected to attend the inaugural flag-off event, including Thodupuzha Municipal Chairperson Sabira Jaleel, Vice Chairman K Deepak, STA member K Suresh Babu, and Thodupuzha Assistant Transport Officer (ATO) MG Rajeev.
