A new KSRTC bus to Palakkad Government Medical College has been launched from the Palakkad bus stand. It was inaugurated by the district's new MLA, Rahul Mankoottathil, on Christmas day. Rahul himself requested Minister KB Ganeshkumar to allow the much-needed bus service in the medical college route. The MLA made the demand when the minister came to inaugurate the new air-conditioned office at the Palakkad bus stand on December 14. Interestingly, the minister allowed the bus service at the venue itself. Meanwhile, the MLA was also a passenger on the bus's inaugural service. He contacted the minister on video call as soon as the bus reached medical college. The minister also shared his happiness and wished him good luck.

Schedule of the bus
1) The bus starts at 2.15 pm from the Palakkad KSRTC stand and reaches Medical College by 2.30 pm. From here, the reaches Shoranur at 4.25 pm via Ottapalam.
2) The return service begins at 4.25 pm from Shoranur and reaches medical college via Pudoor at 6.40 pm.
3) The next service is at 7 pm and reaches Palakkad at 7.15 pm and Olavakkode at 8 pm. The bust returns from Olavakkode at 8.15 pm and reaches Palakkad at 8.30 pm.
4) The bus starts from Palakkad at 8.20 pm and reaches Shoranur via Ottapalam at 11 pm.
5) The next trip begins from Shoranur at 4.30 am and reaches Palakkad Medical College via Pudoor by 6.25 am.

6) The bus departs from here at 6.35 am and reaches Palakkad at 6.50 am.
7) At 7 am, the bus starts from Palakkad and reaches Thodukadu via Alathur by 8.10 am.
8) The bus starts at 8.30 am from Thodukad and arrives at Palakkad by 9.40 am. The medical college trip then begins from Palakkad at 2.15 pm.

Bengaluru service
Minister KB Ganesh Kumar informed the MLA that the weekend bus service from Palakkad to Bengaluru will soon begin. The bus for this would soon reach Palakkad depot. Besides, a service to Chennai, too, would be allowed. The passengers from Palakkad have been demanding these services for some time.
