Kollam: KSRTC’s district budget tourism cell has planned exciting trips to some fabulous spots inside and outside Kerala during the Christmas—New Year holiday season. Kambam, Madurai, Tanjavoor, Palakkad, Nelliyampathy, Velankanni, and Malamel Rock are some of the new additions to the itinerary. Trips to Munnar from Kollam have been scheduled for December 14 and 28, while exclusive cruise rides could be enjoyed on December 21 and 23. A special New Year trip to Vagamon has also been planned for December 31.

Besides Fort Kochi and Mattancherry, rides in the water and rail metros have also been included in the Metro Vibes trip charted on December 14 and 27. The ticket charge for this trip is Rs 870 per head. Meanwhile, the Ayyappa pilgrimage that covers the famous Ayyappa temples at Kulathoopuzha, Aryankavu and Achankovil before visiting the Pandalam temple, where the holy adornments have been kept is on December 14 and 28. Trips are also scheduled to Ponmudi on December 15 and 22; the ticket fare is Rs 770 per head.

1) The trip, which covers the iconic Madurai Meenakshi temple, the historic Brihadisvara temple in Tanjavoor, and the scintillating vineyards, starts at 10 pm on December 20. The ticket rate is Rs 2,350 per head.
2) Bookings for the trip that includes a sea cruise on the Nefertiti cruise ship, charted on December 21 and 23, are progressing. The AC low-floor bus that starts at 10 am from the Kollam depot reaches Ernakulam depot before heading for the five-hour cruise ride in the Arabian Sea. The ticket costs Rs 4240 per head.
3) Illickal Kallu—Ilaveezha Poonchira trips on December 21 and 29. The ticket rate is Rs 820 per head.

4) The Ramakkalmedu trip via the Ayyappankovil hanging bridge is scheduled for 5 am. on December 22. You can book seats for Rs 1070.
5) Two trips have been planned for December 24: Kanyakumari and Rosemala. The trip, which covers Thriparippu waterfall and Padmanabhapuram palace before reaching Kanyakumari for sunset views, costs Rs 800 per head.
6) The Christmas day trip to Anjuruli – Calvary Mount in Idukki starts at 5 pm from Kollam. The ticket fare is Rs 1020.

7) The first Palakkad trip from Kollam starts at 8 pm. on December 26. This two-day trip covers iconic spots like Palakkad fort, Kalpathy, Malampuzha, Thasrak, and the famous Kollangode village. It ends with a quick visit to Nelliyampathy. Book your seats now for Rs 750.
8) The trip to Palod Botanical Garden, Mankayam waterfall, Kuriyattu farm and Malamelpara is on December 29.
9) KSRTC offers an amazing opportunity to attend the first mass at Velankanni church on New Year’s Eve. This special New Year trip begins at 8 am on December 31. The ticket costs Rs 2760 per head.
10) Another New Year trip to Vagamon starts at 9 am on December 31.
