Flying to Sabarimala via Cochin airport? 5000-sqft pilgrim facilitation centre is open now

Kochi:  Kerala Industries Minister P Rajeeve inaugurated the Sabarimala Pilgrim Facilitation Centre at the Cochin International Airport on Thursday. It is the only dedicated facilitation centre for Sabarimala pilgrims established at an airport in the country. The 5000-sq ft carpeted lounge facility has been set up near the police aid post at Domestic (T1) Arrival. The facilities at the centre include a flight information display, a dedicated help desk run by the Travancore Devaswom Board, food & refreshments counters, a prepaid taxi counter and restrooms. The minister said the state government has ensured all facilities for the pilgrims to complete the pilgrimage hassle-free. “For long, many Sabarimala pilgrims have been flying to and from the state. The pilgrim facilitation centre was opened for the first time in Cochin International Airport last year. Around 6,000 pilgrims used the facility last time,” the minister said. Sabarimala pilgrims can also find accommodation at the 0484 Aero Lounge at an affordable rate. KSRTC bus service from CIAL to Pamba
Minister Rajeeve also flagged off the special Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus service from the airport to Pamba, the base camp of the Sabarimala pilgrimage, on Thursday. The service from the airport at 8 pm is scheduled to reach Pamba at 2.30 am. Tickets can be booked online or purchased directly. A chartered bus will be allotted from the airport if there are more than 30 passengers.
