Ajman: Kerala's Transport Minister KB Ganesh Kumar announced the launch of KSRTC semi-sleeper buses on an experimental basis from the airports in Kerala for the expatriates. Sixteen buses have been readied for this service. In the initial phase, the service will be launched at the Cochin International Airport to destinations like Kozhikode, Kottayam and Thiruvalla. The buses would be arranged to suit the arrival time of aeroplanes from some of the important cities in the Middle East. The service will be extended to other airports in the coming phases. The service aims to drop the expatriates who arrive at the airports safely at their homes.

The minister, speaking at the Onam event organised by CARE, Chittar in Ajman, said that AC superfast buses with modern facilities would soon begin service in the state. He stated that around forty buses are already equipped for that.
Specialities of the service
1) As per reports, the buses will stop for their passengers wherever they require to get down.
2) All services, including ticket booking, will be online.
3) The buses will have snack shops
4) They will also have separate luggage compartments.
