The Chennai Central – Thiruvananthapuram – Chennai Central superfast (12695/12696) and Chennai – Alappuzha – Chennai superfast (22639/226640) that have 12 coaches would only have ten coaches from next January onwards. One sleeper coach would be reduced from Thiruvananthapuram – Madurai – Thiruvananthapuram Amrita Express (16343/16344), Ernakulam – Velankanni – Ernakulam Express (16361/16362) and Chennai Central – Palakkad – Chennai Express (22651/22652) each.
