Raw dogging: What is this travel trend and is it beneficial?

Have you ever travelled on a flight without using any device to kill time, except for occasionally glancing at the inflight map? If so, you were ‘raw dogging,’ a new travel trend that many are subscribing to, of late. Those who get aboard raw dogging eschew all forms of entertainment options - movies, music, reading, food and sometimes even water - on a plane. On various social media platforms, people are posting updates on their ‘personal bests’ after they raw dog flights resisting all temptations around them. Interestingly, the term was previously used to denote sexual intercourse without protection and now, it's all over the internet for an experience that many term ‘meditative and challenging.’

How to do nothing?
Those who subscribe to the trend talk about the satisfaction of ‘triumphing over temptations to stay distracted’ and the satisfaction they feel after landing. But, how do they do it? While some flyers just meditated, checked out co-passengers or tapped into their memories to reflect on things, others look at it purely as a ‘mental health test’ to see where their minds take them. Interestingly, it's not just about staying away from devices, food or drinks. Reading, sleeping or even talking to your co-passengers are considered ‘cheating’ if you thought of them as easy ways to raw dog a flight. Doing nothing yet staying awake is how you score at raw dogging, according to social media ‘experts’ of the trend. 
Hydration is important 
If health matters more to you than social media glory and striking new 'raw dogging' milestones, hydration shouldn't be avoided during air travel, according to aviation health experts. One cup of water an hour and occasional stretching are recommended to ensure your body stays relaxed, hydrated and healthy even after the flight.
