Kannur Airport to increase domestic-international fares from April 1: Here's why

The Airport Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) has permitted to increase the domestic and international flight fares at Kannur Airport from April 1. Authorities said the reasons for the steps are the reduction in the number of passengers and that no changes were made in the fares in the past year. The user development fees that are charged along with the airfare, the parking and landing fees charged from airlines, aerobridge, inline x-ray charges and cargo charges will also be increased.
For international passengers, there is an increase of Rs and for domestic passengers, Rs 500. The current rate for international passengers is Rs 1263 and it will be Rs 1982 from April 1. The domestic rate of Rs 368 will be raised to Rs 885. Authorities said that till 2028, there will be a rise in charges in every financial year.
