Kochi metro announces additional services today for ISL fans

Kochi: The Kochi metro has scheduled additional services from the JLN Stadium metro station on March 13 (Wednesday) when the Indian Super League football match takes place at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium. The last train from JLN Stadium towards Aluva and Tripunithura will be at 11.30 pm. Those who arrive in the metro train to watch the match would be able to purchase the return ticket in advance, to avoid waiting in the queue. Fans who reach the stadium to cheer the teams too could rely on the metro service to travel to various destinations. Meanwhile, special arrangements have been made at the JLN Stadium station to manage the crowds.

You could use the ‘pay and park’ facilities at the metro stations to avoid the heavy traffic blocks on the road. Those who come from Thrissur and Malappuram sides could park their cars and busses at the parking lot near Aluva metro station and then take the train to the stadium. The parking space at Aluva metro station can accommodate up to fifty cars and ten buses at a time.

Meanwhile, the fans who reach highway 66 in the Paravoor – Kodungallur route could park their vehicles at Edappally metro station and travel to JLN Stadium station in the metro train. Up to thirty cars and fifteen buses could be parked at the parking lot adjacent to the Edappally metro station. Besides, those who come from the Alappuzha – Thiruvananthapuram sides could take the metro to JLN Stadium from Vytila. Fans from the Idukki – Kottayam sides could park their vehicles at SN Junction or Vadakkekota metro stations before taking the train to the stadium.
