Thrissur Pooram festivities end with Upacharam Cholli Piriyal ceremony

After entertainment thousands with percussion ensembles, fireworks, majestic tuskers and more, curtains are down on this year's Thrissur Pooram festival.
The ceremonial Upacharam Cholli Piriyal, where the Paramekkavu and Thiruvambadi deities bid farewell to each other till next year, was held around Monday noon.
The Pooram this year was quite a spectacle and had the presence of many women and differently-abled spectators too. Officials said that it had more participation as compared to the previous years.
In 2024, the Pooram will be on April 19.
