By the look of things, the road running to Puzhakkal is going to be the new restaurant hub in Thrissur. As many as fifteen big and small hotels including those already in operation and others yet to open are all set to change the way people eat. Puzhakkal shot to fame due to a couple of recent developments. The River tourism, the new Shopping Mall, which is under construction, the showrooms of prominent vehicle manufacturers and various other development activities have all helped the restaurants to open up shop here. Aryas Vegetarian Hotel was among the first to open shop. The Lulu Gardens Hotel, Le Green Restaurant, Pepper Restaurant, Hotel Paragon and City Kitchen with their diverse dishes are the other business which has already set up operations. An outlet of European Fried Chicken is slated to open soon. Hotels including international brands are expected to set up shop in the Shobha Shopping Mall being built adjacent to Shobha City. These hotels will cater to a variety of tastes by offering South Indian, North Indian, Chinese, Tandoor and Barbecue. Each hotel has its own exclusive items like Thakkara kozhi, Ammachi Pothin Curry and Chicken Nalukettu. Puzhackal also has hotels serving local cuisine at reasonable rates like the Kudumbasree Canteen and Maria Hotel adjacent to Puzhackal Tourism Village. A wide road and ample parking space are added advantages of Puzhackal Road.
