In the past few days, there have been various reports that Ooty's popular spots, like the Golf Course, Railway Station and a handful of other areas, are experiencing chilly nights, giving the area a true winter vibe. If you are someone who loves to explore such places this season, do not miss this opportunity to enjoy Ooty. At the same time, you must take an e-pass to visit the hill station.
It is mandatory for all tourists to travel on vehicles not registered in the Nilgiris District. Just apply for it through the Tamil Nadu government website at epass.tnega.org, giving details on the number of tourists, type of your vehicle, fuel type, purpose of visit, dates of entry and exit. Once you submit this information, it will generate a QR code, which you can show at the entry point of Ooty.

Here are the top spots that give the winter vibe and the reasons why you shouldn't miss them:
1) Ooty Golf Course
The historic 18-hole golf course of Ooty is one of the spots that's been experiencing snowfall in the past few days. It is located on Fingerpost Road, about 5 km from Ooty town centre. The normally green landscape has become a snow-covered wonderland, and videos of it are going viral. For those who love taking photos, this will be a great time to capture some green-white contrast pics and the blue skies in the background. You can also spot some deer, bison, birds, and more that might wander through the snow-covered grounds.

2) Udhagamandalam Railway station
The colonial-era station has an otherwordly charm even otherwise, and when it snows, it adds to its vintage looks. Take a 'snowy train ride' to Coonoor from here to see snow-covered valleys and misty landscapes. If at all you don't want to try the boat ride, enjoy the frost-covered platforms and nearby attractions like the Ooty Rose Garden, in the snow-covered ambience.

3) Ooty Lake
Ever enjoyed the sight of mist rising from a lake in chilly weather while light dances on the water? To enjoy this picturesque sight, check out the Ooty Lake. If you want to enjoy a lot more of it, try a tranquil boating experience on the lake and from the lake, enjoy the snow-covered trees around it, frosty pathways and the gardens around it. Yet again, do not miss it if you love photography.
