Indians might get to travel to Russia visa-free next year

By spring 2025, India and Russia will likely facilitate visa-free travel for tourists, increasing the inflow of Indian tourists to Russia. Travellers only need to produce their passports upon arrival in Russia, and thereby, they can eliminate the visa costs. Currently, Indians can travel visa-free to 62 countries. Interestingly, according to reports, 28,500 tourists visited Moscow in the first half of 2024. Since August last year, Indian tourists have also been able to apply for an e-visa, which takes about four days to process. In January this year, Indian tourists were issued around 1700 electronic visas. 

These are the other countries that presently welcome Indian travellers without a visa – Angola, Barbados, Bhutan, Bolivia, British Virgin Islands, Burundi, Cambodia, Cape Verde Islands, Comoro Islands, Cook Islands, Djibouti, Dominica, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Fiji, Gabon, Guinea – Bissau, Haiti, Indonesia, Iran, Jamaica, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kiribati, Laos, Macao (SAR China), Madagascar, Malaysia, Maldives, Marshall Islands, Mauritania, Mauritius, Micronesia, Montserrat, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nepal, Niue, Oman, Palau Islands, Qatar, Rwanda, Samoa, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Saint Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Tanzania, Thailand, Timor – Leste, Togo, Trinidad and Tobago, Tunisia, Tuvalu, Vanuatu and Zimbabwe.
