Antigua and Barbuda is an independent commonwealth nation consisting of two main islands and several small islets. The country, located at the confluence of the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, is dotted with pristine reef-lined beaches, verdant rainforests and many exquisite resorts.
It is noteworthy that the country offers much more than scenic natural beauty. Antigua and Barbuda is the latest to enter the list of countries that provide online work visas to people hailing from other nations. They can get two-year work visas under the Nomad Digital Residence programme, and earn up to 50,000 dollars (Rs 36,74,100) per year while working for local companies.
Currently, the foreign business firms, which don't have a presence in Antigua and Barbuda, can bring employees for work to the island nation. Those running their own business can also avail work visas under this programme. The visa-holders can enter and exit the country multiple times without any restrictions but the applicants should not be citizens of Antigua and Barbuda.
One of the main attractions of an overseas job is its financial security and different countries offer varied pay scales for the same occupation. Usually, those aspiring for a hefty salary and exposure in work would choose for employment in foreign countries. But the present COVID-19-triggered situation has forced everyone to put their travel plans to other nations on the backburner.
Now, many companies having operations in other nations are providing opportunities for people to work from their country of origin. These jobs come with a good pay package and without the hassles of travelling to a new place. Apart from the superlative telecommunication infrastructure, Antigua and Barbuda has a low rate of COVID positive cases. Those eligible will be issued a special-resident authorization valid for two years.
