‘Amoeba Nature Tent Camping’ is the start-up venture of three youths-Jishnu, Khajan and Mithun- fresh out BTech and MBA and now looking for a foothold in the field of tourism. The tenting season is from October to February. This serene and scenic place is at the 18th mile on the Hill Station Road from the Munnar town. The tent camp is about 500 meters from the main road.
The camp has a total capacity of 60 people. In one tent up to four persons can stay. A campfire can be set up for the guests to enjoy. The camp can provide a variety of dishes to choose from. The tariff is Rs 1500/- per head. Since the place is abundant in many bird types, this is a favourite haunt for bird watchers.
Far below the mountains, the town of Kambam in Theni district can be seen from the camp site. The Amoeba Nature Tent Camping provides the ambience suitable for a tranquil forest dwelling at economical rates. Since the camping site is deep in the interior, there is no electric power. But the solar-powered lighting is sufficient during the night. You will have to carry a power bank if you want to charge the mobile gadgets etc. There are reasonably clean toilets. If you are game for a day and night trip to this place, it will be a completely different Munnar experience.
