Kottayam: The Taj Kumarakom Resort and Spa has undergone an amazing facelift to welcome its guests with renewed glory. The room number 18, in which former Indian Prime Minister AB Vajpaye had stayed, has been turned into a heritage block where the tourists from foreign countries can enjoy the mesmerizing charm of Kerala architecture.

The resort was renovated as it incurred damages in the flood that drowned most parts of Kumarakom. General Manager Ashirvad Praharaj said that resort was introducing a number of exciting culinary experiments and adventure rides to entertain the guests this season.

Food served in huge metal tiffin boxes is a highlight here. Tiffin boxes, in which freshly cooked home food are packed to schools or offices, have a significant position in the Indian culture. Non vegetarian dishes like chicken and fish curries and vegetable dishes too would be served in tiffin boxes for the guests to enjoy.

The resort would arrange boat rides for groups to enjoy the breath taking beauty of the Vembanad Lake. Besides, the adventure buffs can ride the zip line across the lake. Adventure sports like kayaking and cycling too have been arranged here in association with Muddy Boots, an international travel agency.
