The Malayalam month of Chingam heralds a new beginning. The farmers across the state are happy with the monsoons and now it is time for sowing in Wayanad. Here's a look at some pictures from Wayanad when they started cultivation.

Even though tractors and tillers are used, some farmers resolve to the old fashioned way. They say that the diesel leak could hamper the cultivation.

These will be planted by hand. And then they will pray for a decent harvest.
