Laurene Powell Jobs, the widow of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, will attend the iconic Maha Kumbh Mela, held this year at Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh. Kumbh Mela is a prominent religious gathering held at Prayagraj every 12 years. Swami Kailashnand Ji Maharaj told a news portal they gave Laurene the Hindu name ‘Kamala’. “She will be coming to visit her guru. Our Kamala is like a daughter to us; this is the second time she will visit India. All are welcome to the Maha Kumbh Mela,” said Swami Kailashnand Ji Maharaj.

Laureen will reportedly stay at the monastery of Swami Kailashnand Ji of the Niranjini Akhara. She will also participate in various rituals and take a holy dip in the river. “She is coming to meditate. We are happy that those who do not know about our traditions are showing interest in learning them. Lots of people will be coming for the Kumbh Mela. Indians from around the globe wish to come here to seek blessings,” the Swami noted.
