Veteran actor Napoleon planned a surprise gift for the guests who arrived in Japan for his son’s wedding. He arranged a fabulous tour of Japan for his guests from India and the USA. Changanassery native Sam Anto, Napolean’s close friend who attended the wedding, told Manorama Online that the three-day trip to Tokyo, Hiroshima and Kyoto cities was mind-blowing. Sam says the Japanese cities are spotless, and their unique culture is incredibly beautiful. The trip to Hiroshima, which was destroyed by the atomic bomb Little Boy on August 6 1945, was apparently an extremely emotional experience for the guests. The city that has survived the deadly bomb still instils pain in the hearts of the visitors.
Why a Japanese destination wedding
Sam and Napolean became close friends around 12 years ago when the former invited the actor as a guest for the Onam celebrations of the Kerala Association in the US. Napolean and his family had gone for a seven-month-long cruise around the world from Chicago. Interestingly, the marriage proposal for his son Dhanush came amidst this trip. Napolean then looked for options for venues in India and the US to conduct his son’s wedding.
As Dhanush suffers from muscular dystrophy, flying was not an option. The family then tried a destination they could reach by ship but later dropped the idea as they couldn’t conduct the wedding on the decided date. So, Tokyo in Japan was zeroed in for the destination wedding as the location was easily accessible for the family and guests.
One hundred guests each from India and America attended the wedding, while there were fifty guests from Japan. Sam Anto, who works in the real estate field in the USA, says that the wedding and the special Japan tour were unforgettable moments in his life. Moreover, he wishes to visit Japan again. Sam Anto, his wife and brother Fr. Tom Puthenkulam attended Napolena’s son’s wedding in Japan. Besides them, the guest list included the Indian consul in Japan, Sibi George, actors Karthi, Sharat Kumar, Meena, Khushbu and Suhasini and many other esteemed personalities.
Meanwhile, the wedding pictures of Dhanush and Akshaya have gone viral on social media. The actor was seen getting emotional during the ceremonies. The extensive wedding celebrations included haldi, mehandi, and sangeet functions.
